OSTOVE – Why this name and how was it created?

In another blog post, I told you about how our rocket stove came to be. But how did we come up with the name OSTOVE, and how did it become the leading rocket stove brand in the German-speaking world?

O and STOVE – that simple

Thanks to our quality, customer service, and design, we’ve been able to build a strong position in the market. A heartfelt thank you to all of you! The name OSTOVE is now well known as a rocket stove provider — but where does it actually come from?

In fact, we focused on the shape of the rocket stove. All the rocket stoves in our range have a round shape. Viewed from above, the outer circle together with the inner combustion chamber looks like an “O.”

Then comes the English word for “Ofen” — stove.

So the pronunciation is simply O… followed by the English word STOVE.

OSTOVE → so simple, and yet we keep hearing new pronunciations that amuse us every day.

Oh, and the logo symbol is a flame. Fitting, right? :-)
